The United Methodist Church has a tagline “Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors” and we take that very seriously at Collinsville First United Methodist Church.  We strive to open ourselves to God,  carefully consider our faith with heart and mind, and fully love the people around us.  Join us as we work grow God’s kingdom through word and action.

The founder of the Methodist movement, John Wesley, believed that faith must be active.  He believed that scripture pointed the way toward justice & peace and believed that Christians could advance God’s justice. Wesley believed that we need to act on our faith and he used every resource at his disposal to provide medical care to the poor, visit the imprisoned, share food and clothing among those who needed it and fought against unjust laws (or for laws that would bring justice). He shared the story of Christ as he did Christ’s work and we are called do the same.

At Collinsville First we work to reclaim our Wesleyan roots as a church that imitates Christ in both word and action.  We strive to be a church that puts our faith into action.
